![]() While some still debate the origins of the modern titanium frame industry (many say it was with the Massachusetts-based Merlin), these Southerners have never stopped advancing the design technology of the aerospace material. The Lynskey family of Tennessee has been in the business of building titanium bikes (exclusively) since the late ’80s. One thing about the Lynskey Sportive that hasn’t changed is the family behind the brand. Alas, just as Gran Fondos have stolen the popular nomenclature from what we used to call century or charity rides, so too have certain attributes of yesterday’s touring bikes taken on a new meaning. Sure, old-timers will remind us that for years they rode similarly intended bikes simply called ‘touring’ bikes. No matter what it’s called, slowly but surely the dual-purpose, gravel, adventure bike category continues to gain traction in the industry. ![]()
